The jump pads somehow gave me additional healing as well as some avoidance of his aoe one shot? All in all, I just got lucky and kept throwing myself at him (luckily his phases don't restart after every death). Third phase, he triggers his aoe one shot attack the most. For the second phase, shattergun works best because you'll be attacking more than one target, him and his arm. For some reason, staying in one spot has less of a chance to trigger his aoe one shot attack. So basically what I did was quickly get through his first phase by healing and damaging as fast as I could.
